There are so many free WordPress Themes out there and it’s hard to find the best WordPress Theme for yourself. I’ve tried some but was not really happy with them, until I discovered the best free WordPress Theme for me:

I’m using the theme Free Theme Spacious by ThemeGrill:

Here’s the official description of the theme:

Spacious is an incredibly spacious multipurpose responsive theme coded & designed with a lot of care and love. You can use it for your business, portfolio, blogging or any type of site. It has 4-page layouts, 2-page templates, 4 blog display types, 13 widgets areas, 5 custom widgets focusing on the business template, awesome slider, primary color option to match your logo & website, boxed & wide layout, light & dark color skin, translation ready and much more.

Here you can see the demo of the Theme to get a better idea how it looks like (here already with the Business template I explain later):

The supported Plugins of Theme Spacious are:

  1. Social Icons by ThemeGrill
  2. Easy Social Sharingby ThemeGrill
  3. Contact Form 7
  4. WP-PageNavi
  5. Breadcrumb NavXT
  6. WooCommerce
  7. Polylang Fully Compatible in Pro Version
  8. WPML Fully Compatible in Pro Version

I’m using the Contact Form 7 Plugin which was very easy to integrate. Theme Spacious has also a Contact Page Template and a Contact Page Sidebar Widget, so you can easily add more information about you in the sidebar of your contact form (your image, address, contact information, social media…).

When I saw this Youtube video, I made my decision to choose this theme:

My reasons for using Theme Spacious:

It’s multipurpose: with the Business template you are able to create a static homepage with a great showcase of your online business.
The Business template has a Business Top Sidebar, a Business Middle Left Sidebar, a Business Middle Right Sidebar and a Business Bottom Sidebar:

Additional widgets for the Business Template:

Theme Spacious Widgets

TG: Services
You use this widget for your Icons shown below the header (don’t forget to add a featured image to the pages – normally you need them only in blog posts):

TG: Call to Action

You can use this feature for many purposes, I used it like this:

TG: Testimonials
You can put a testimonial in every business widget, I put my one in the Business bottom Sidebar. When you put it in the Business Middle Left or middle Right Sidebar, it’s not so wide as my one, only half of the page and it’s shown by default like a blockquote:

TG: Featured Single Page
You can use this Widget in the Business Middle Left or Right Sidebar. I used it like this:

Theme Spacious Business Template Widget FG: Featured Single Page

TG: Featured Widget
I did not use it yet, but you can add your recent work as shown below and add three pages (note: I noticed that you cannot add categories, as in the drop-down menu are only pages to add):

Other widgets I like:

Contact Page Sidebar Widget
Contact Page Sidebar Widget

Contact Page Sidebar Widget (although I don’t use it at the moment)

Error 404 Page Sidebar:
This is a Redirect Widget (just insert the Html-code of an image whit a redirection to your homepage)

Without this widget, you have to embed the Html-code in the Editor – 404 Template of your child theme (otherwise it’s gone after a theme update), but with the Error 404 Page Sidebar Widget it’s very easy to do.

To see, how it looks like, just add /404 to my homepage!

Other reasons, why I use this Theme:

It’s responsive

It has a Support Forum, also for the free version of the theme – the Forum is very helpful and very friendly

Mobile friendly

You can upload your Logo easily

Super Fast Loading: for one website with a Slider I used another Theme, but the loading of the website was very slow, so I changed it to the Free Theme Spacious as well and it’s fine, now!

Translate Spacious
You can translate this Theme into your own language (I did not use it yet).

Select Layoutspacious theme - select layouts
Not only on posts, but also on pages you can choose the following layouts:

It is very useful if you can hide your sidebar with just one click on a page or even on a post when the sidebar is more distracting than helpful.

I have three websites with three different looks (at least I hope so):

This website with a Business static homepage which I use as a showcase for my business a website with a blogroll and Header a website with a blogroll and an awesome slider

I don’t get any commission for writing this page about the Theme Spacious. I only wanted to show you my reasons why I’m using it.

      Hi Jeff!
You’re welcome. Thanks for reading my blog about the theme. ThemeGrill has many other very interesting themes, just have a look at them! Spacious (my one) is only one of them…
